IPVP

About Us

Integrated Programmes for Vulnerable People (IPVP) is a not for profit organization that is focused on providing practical skills, enterprise and mentorship programmes to vulnerable people[1] within Uganda especially among the rural and urban poor. IPVP works through local and religious leaders to identify people within areas where we operate, that may be in need of special support. We commenced with outreaches in and around Najjanankumbi, a Kampala surburb to sensitize people about the programmes at IPVP aimed at transforming the lives of underprivileged people. We are guided by the desire to support vulnerable people to develop their own capacity to improve their livelihoods and we are focused on providing programmes that foster sustainable development among our beneficiaries. Basing on the successes of the inaugural cohort, we plan to expand the programme to Masulita, a rural village in Wakiso district in 2020.

Our Mission

“To empower vulnerable people with sustainable enterprise solutions to progressively grow household incomes and improve their living standards.”

Our Vision

“A world where everyone lives a self-sustaining life with dignity.”

Our Core Values

  • Integrity: We pledge to honor our commitments and be accountable for our actions.
  • Passion: We listen, respond and do everything with joy and gratitude
  • Diversity: We embrace and appreciate our differences. Our uniqueness shouldn’t divide us but inspire us to learn from one another and be inclusive.
  • Humility: We have respect for everyone and recognize that smart ideas can come from other people. We strive for fairness in our treatment of one another. We learn from our mistakes and are open to continuous improvement.

Vulnerable people are people who are at risk of abuse or harm due to life circumstances and are in need of special care, support and protection e.g. children, women, people with financial hardships i.e. earn below $2 a day, people living with disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS, people affected by HIV/AIDS, widows, refugees. For the purpose of this document, vulnerability will mainly focus on people with financial hardships i.e. earn below $2 a day.
